Just Missed the Color

This weekend a group of us went down to Maple Canyon to get some late season climbing.  Maple is amazing in the fall.  The canyon lights up with color from all the maple and aspen trees.  It can be a really amazing place to hike and climb.  Well, that was the plan for this Sunday.  Unfortunately with the dry and hot summer, a lot of leaves changed early, or went right from green to dead.  We saw some color, but mostly it was shriveled brown leaves hanging from the trees.  We still had a great time climbing, doing a lot of long routes in the Minimum area.  For boulderers like us, even the easy routes feel hard when they are that long!
